On March 23, 2017, Ruth Vogeser representing the Asto Industrial Park handed over the construction site to Nicolas von Wolff, Chairman of the pro-beam Group, and to Andreas Meier, the pro-beam project manager responsible for the construction project. In an initial phase, 90 new jobs will be created on the roughly 6,500 square meter (about 70,000 sq. ft.) property.
After the official handover, a general contractor set up the construction site, marked-off the area, began with the excavation work, and moved the first crane into position. “Now we can get started. If everything goes according to plan, we will be moving into the new building in the third quarter of 2018. It is an ambitious goal that we have set for ourselves as well as all of the companies involved. We are looking forward to 14 excit-ing months,” remarked Nicolas von Wolff.
The Gilching-Süd (Gilching South) Industrial Park is located along the A 96 interstate. About 1,200 jobs should eventually be created here. For the Asto Group, it was important that companies with similar thematic focuses move into the park. In this case, the park will only house medium-sized technological companies who move to Gilching.
