Munich (08.06.2017) – ‘asto’ is now a byword in ‘Industry 4.0’ – the fourth industrial revolution (industrial digitalisation). Together with the Luba investment company, the asto Business Group has taken over a Munich telematics company, under the new name of ‘asto Telematics GmbH‘. In addition to its key industrial technologies, the Munich-based company enjoys solid relations with international customers.

The aim of the asto Business Group is to strengthen its core business of implementing and operating high-tech sites. Although these two fields might appear quite different at first glance, they represent a consistent expansion of the asto group’s aim of providing enhanced added value and safety for man and the environment by means of high-tech.

asto Telematics GmbH develops and supplies energy-self-sufficient positioning, communication, energy measurement transmission and sensory solutions for services in the fields of rail, lorry, container and freight logistics. One example is the latest generation of aJour telematics, which itself can be considered a technological milestone. Approximately 20,000 systems of the previous generation have entered operation and the company has built on the experience gained.

It was only recently that the company presented the ‘BMS’, an innovative brake monitoring system, developed together with VTG, the biggest rolling stock leasing company for cargo and provider of rail logistics services in Europe. The new system was designed especially for the rail industry and was presented at the beginning of May 2017 at the Transport Logistic in Munich – the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management.

The high-tech company asto Telematics GmbH is to be managed as an independent company under the umbrella of the asto Business Group.
